I love these guitars. I bought a near exact 1973 in a pawnshop around 1977, hammered, and gig with it to this day. We picked up a collection of 70's Gibsons and Fenders, and this was the cleanest one in the bunch, and maybe the cleanest and unboogered one we have had in years. No fret wear, 1.69 nut width, 10 pounds 2 ounces, and appears 100% stock. There are shirt button/belt worm tracks on the back, they don't go through the finish and I could not get them to pop out, so not mint, but a solid 8.5 out of 10...

According to the original owners son he bought the Fuzz Face when he bought his SG Special in 1967. We have the Special, and it is a 1967, but the Fuzz Face could be a '68. It has the NKT275 transistors. It was noisy and not working right so we sent it to Analog Man. He worked his magic, refloated some solder joints but don't think they replaced anything. I love Kapa's, own 2 and pick them up whenever I can, it's a formative year thing. This is a later 60's 500, more than likely it has made the switch to Japanese pickups. Plays well, overall very clean, probably the cleanest Kapa I have ever had. It has a 2 tone gray/cream chipboard case, like I would see with a nice older Harmony or Kay, with a repaired handle.
