Here we have a very clean 1983 Elite Strat, and a red sunburst I have never seen. The previous owner told me it was called cinnamon burst, I saw something similar that was called wild cherry, so there you go. I don't see any real wear, dings, abuse, and virtually no fret wear. It's not mint, but excellent describes it well.
I remember when these came out, I opened my shop in 1985 and the local music store that had been here forever had these. I was amazed at the 4th pickup (basically a coil) underneath the guard that made the pickups humbuckers, and it was so quiet! And you could run all 3 pickups at once! I was living in amazing times.
Issues. Not many. Apparently the locking nut has the fine tuners on it. The high E and B strings are missing the adjustment pieces underneath, and the screw on to that tightens these strings up. I kinda think the locking nut is a useless thing, and just not use it but if the locking nut is your focus, then these pieces are missing. The tremolo uses a 10/32 Allen screw to adjust the height of the tremolo off the body, and it was missing. We bought a 10/32 x 3/8", restrung with D'Addario 10-46's and set up fine. If you wanted to go to 11's you might need a 1/2" Allen screw. But the tremolo works great. The tremolo arm was missing, it's a pop in type and we had an old pop in chrome one that fit, so that is the tremolo arm. I had a white tipped one around here, if it pops up I will include it instead.
The case is the one the guy got with the guitar, an early Fender Tweed. It shows some scuffs but is solid and no issues.
