1972 Gibson SG Standard Deluxe walnut

two humbuckers, no plastic plate on the top for the controls, my first thought is a Standard, but it has the raised pickguard with the 3 tiny spacers underneath like a Deluxe. Pot codes make 1972 the year, and a beautiful set of chrome covered Patent Sticker pickups. The witch hat knobs and bridge/tailpiece seem stock, as does the old Grovers with "Gibson" stamped on them. Only thing I can point to is the weird wear on the back of the headstock at the top- it doesn't affect the serial number, I started to drop fill it but left it alone. There is also some shading around the neck joint, but the guitar black lights perfectly, and doesn't look like any repairs were ever done. Plays great and sounds terrific. A buddy is bringing me a tremolo arm, so should be ready to boogie! Has the original square hard case with purple lining, a nice example and a pretty desirable case on it's own.
