Gibson Custom Shop 2010 Collector’s Choice #1 Melvyn Franks 1959 Les Paul Aged Gary Moore
This is a rare "Collector’s Choice Melvyn Franks Aged" model, the first of the Collectors Choice series, of which only 125 have been produced.
This is a reproduction of the famous 1959 Les Paul, also known as 'Greeny', which Gary Moore acquired from Peter Green in 1970, and the superb aging process applied by Tom Murphy has recreated the authentic look of the instrument, with a subdued butterscotch finish, weather checks, peeling paint and dents.
The top is made from evenly flamed maple and has the same specs as the original, including Spurzel tuners, bridge volume/tone controls replaced with metal hat knobs and the screw holes from the removed pickguard.
The pickups are equipped with Out Of Phase wired Burstbucker #3 on the neck and Burstbucker #2 on the bridge.
The frets are only slightly worn in the plain string low position, and the neck and truss rod are both in good condition.
