SG-800はそれまで発売されていたコストパフォーマンスモデルのSG-700に代わり発売されたモデル。ヘッドバインディングが無く、ヘッドのインレイも簡素化されています。コストパフォーマンスモデルながらバイサウンドを搭載しており機能面は充実。マホガニーを使用したネックは細く演奏性能の高いスウィンネックを採用しています。セットネックSGの基本軸と言えるSG1000を継承しており古今東西、国を超えて愛されているジャパンヴィンテージギターです。
