イタリア製、ハンマーグレーケース仕様のTONE BENDERです!!
VOXのTone Benderは、1966年初期に発表されたSola Sound製のTone Bender MK1.5を元に同年後期に発表されました。そして、1968年にはブラックの筐体にシルバーパネルと仕様が変更されています。ArbiterのFuzz Faceも同様にMK1.5を元に設計されたため、よく似た回路を持っています。ファットなサウンドのFuzz Faceに対して、VOX Tone Benderは鋭く抜けるハイを備えています。バリッと毛羽立ったアタック、粒立ちの粗い歪みとタイトに引き締まったローエンドにより、激しさの中にも埋もれない音像が得られます。ギターVOLを絞るだけでカラッとしたクリーンサウンドがいとも簡単に得られるので、手元で幅広いサウンドがコントロールできます。鋭いトレブルだけでなくミッド&ローも十分あり、ズ太いサウンドを持っています。近年、サウンドも含めた良品はなかなか見つけ辛くなってしまっているモデルではないでしょうか。
