創始者ロジャー・サドウスキーに師事を得て、日本にて公認クラフトマンとしてサドウスキーを製作する事を許された菊池 氏によるSadowsky TOKYO。
本機はTOKYOロゴ期のジャズベースモデルRJ4。
フルサイズの2ピースアッシュボディとメイプルネック、メイプル指板、ブリッジはBADASS IIという仕様。
ネックバインディング、ブロックポジションといった70sスタイルのルックスとなっています。
オリジナルピックアップ/プリアンプが搭載されており、コントロールはボリューム/PUバランサー/2バンドEQで、ベース・ノブをプッシュ/プルすることによりアクティブ/パッシブの切り替えが可能です。
現行のMetroline等とはサウンドキャラクターが異なり、アクティブベースの元気さというよりも、Fenderの70sのようなメリハリ感を感じられるサウンドです。
ソリッドのアッシュボディですが、4.25kgと比較的軽量な点も嬉しいところ。
アクティブながら生音っぽい芯のあるサウンドが心地よいジャズベです！
