For Sale: Left Handed 1992 Rickenbacker 325V59L-MG.
This is another rare left handed Rickenbacker: a one-owner Rickenbacker 325 Maple Glow natural with factory Bigsby (325V59L-MG). It is from 1992 with serial # D5 8439. This is based on John Lennon's original ¾ sized Rickenbacker which was a thick body in the natural Maple Glow finish. He swapped out the control knobs for Hofner tea-cup knobs and swapped out the Kaufmann vibrola for the Bigsby that most people are familiar with.
This guitar does NOT have the “bow-tie” bridge. He then painted it black. This was the version that we saw him use on the Ed Sullivan Show and subsequent live performances.
The original owner purchased this guitar from the Guitar Center in Hollywood in 1992 where it was hanging on the wall. It still has the made in USA sticker on the pickguard. It has maybe 20 hours playing time on it.
Please note, Rickenbacker released a couple of different runs of this guitar with different model designations. Some may have a “C” designation. This guitar is from the V59 run (325V59).
The guitar is in Mint Condition aside from some very minor case rash on the back (only seen in direct light and up close). Includes OHSC, store retail tag, Rickenbacker warranty card, bridge cover, strap, and polishing cloth.
