He added the toaster top pickups and got a classic silver vintage reissue Rickenbacker case (about $600 extra). Strung with burnished Rick strings and freshly set up, yes, it’s kinda magic. This is what you want for that Laurel Canyon sound like the Byrds, Beach Boys, Tom Petty or Buffalo Springfield. A very American sound that the British bands also loved. You could look and look for another but then you’d need toaster tops and a sexy silver case… or just buy this.
