Offered here is perhaps the finest solid body guitar model PRS has ever produced this side of their far more expensive Private Stock Models. This is a Modern Eagle I (first series) built in 2006.
This original Modern Eagle has a carved and highly figured maple top matched to a mahogany back. The 22-fret neck and fingerboard are both made of Brazilian rosewood. The neck has a 10” radius with abalone bird inlays. The headstock overlay is also Brazilian rosewood with an inlaid Modern Eagle logo. It has an ultra-thin satin nitro-cellulose finish in "Faded Blue Jean." The electronics include PRS Modern Eagle “RP” pickups with volume, tone and a three-way toggle. This luscious guitar was made with extremely dense tone woods which give it fantastic tone and a total weight of 7 pounds, 13 ounces.
I just love the look and feel of these first generation ME's. The premium woods and the satin finish give them the look and feel of a well-preserved vintage instruments. This guitar is particularly lively and resonant, even as PRS guitars go and it nearly plays itself. The tone is like that of an old LP to my ears; just check out the brief sound sample included.
This guitar remains in superb cosmetic condition with no significant flaws. It comes in it's very original suede leather case with all the original paperwork. The case does show a few marks from it's time in storage.
This guitar will destroy most any LP or other solid body humbucking guitar out there IMHO. These instruments are relatively rare and highly desirable and this example is offered at a very competitive price. Make this fabulous PRS yours. You will be very glad you did!
