1981 Park Model 1206

All-tube head made in England. Very clean and original including its Drake transformers. So, a Park Model 1206 is essentially a Marshall Model 2204 (the great 50-watt EL34 master volume circuit designed by Steve Grindrod in 1975) with a different logo, silver control panel, and silver knob caps. Like the Marshall-branded amps of this period, it’s powered by a pair of EL34s, has three 12AX7s in the preamp, and features exemplary partial-PCB construction with a very thick board suspended away from sources of heat or vibration, flying leads to the potentiometers, and chassis-mounted tube sockets. Very late in Park production, as the chassis label indicates a production date of February 26,1981. Marshall closed the operation down in 1982 when their distribution agreement with Rose-Morris came to an end and they no longer needed to compete with themselves, so to speak, in the North of England. Over their history, Park a few models that departed, sometimes substantially, from the Marshall products coming out of the same factory, but this really is “just” a JMP 2204, and of course sounds absolutely fantastic  and has tha
