Description

Presenting the new Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Compact (RD-C) Overdrive Pedal. The RevivalDRIVE Compact takes the groundbreaking circuit design found in the original RevivalDRIVE and condenses it into a smaller, more pedalboard-friendly package. Housing a complete valve amp-style signal path recreated in analogue electronics, the RevivalDRIVE Compact accurately reproduces a wide range of classic British and American non-master-volume valve amp tones. A streamlined set of controls makes dialing in your ideal sound easier and more intuitive than ever before, while the powerful Post-Drive EQ lets you adjust the RevivalDRIVE Compact to suit your preferred amp and settings, not the other way around. With the ability to directly shape key amp properties like preamp voicing, break-up characteristics and low-frequency distortion, plus a built-in Blend control to mix in your dry signal, the RevivalDRIVE Compact allows you to quickly dial in a range of legendary amp tones or mix and match different flavours to create your own unique sound. RevivalDRIVE Compact's Controls: OUTPUT – overall output level GAIN – adjusts input level for amount of overdrive BLEND – mix between dry input level and overdriven signal. Gain is also reduced as BLEND is turned down. HIGHS – increases mids and high frequencies. Progresses through a range of useful preamp voicings LOWS – Adjusts the amount of low-end distortion MORE/PRES – reduces the power-stage’s negative feedback (CCW) or increases the presence (CW) POST-DRIVE EQ switch- three presets allow quick compatibility when plugging into bright, dark, and flat-response amps. ADJ – compensates the pedal’s output to suit how the amp’s controls are set when EQ1 or EQ2 is selected Are you thinking about the choice between the original RevivalDRIVE vs RevivalDRIVE Compact? With the RevivalDRIVE Compact, Origin wanted to pack everything players loved about the RevivalDRIVE into a slimmed-down pedal with a simpler set of controls. To achieve this, they opted for a single channel in place of the original’s separate Valve and Silicon Rectifier channels, with newly designed rectifier circuitry voiced midway between a solid-state rectifier and a GZ34 rectifier valve. They also decided to leave out additional features like the switchable mid-range boost and the Ghost control, which uses significant extra circuitry (including a simulated mains power supply) to recreate the “ghost note” effect produced when cranking certain vintage amps. If you want these extra features, switchable channels and more detailed control over things like dry signal level and output EQ, then the original RevivalDRIVE is the one for you, with the option of the Custom front-panel EQ for precision tone-matching when running into more obscure amps. If you just want to get to the same unparalleled overdrive sounds, and you want to get there fast, that’s exactly what Origin built the RevivalDRIVE Compact to do Class-A preamp stage with realistic amp gain-stagingPhase inverter and push-pull power amp stagesVariable negative feedback in the output stageRealistic rectifier and mains transformer sagReactive load to simulate interaction between amp and speakerBlend knob to mix in your dry signalPowerful tone-shaping Post-Drive EQHigh-current, low-noise electronicsUltra-high input impedanceSilent switchingHigh-quality buffered bypassPremium components throughoutAdvanced power supply filtering and protectionPSU Spec. 85mA @ 9V, centre-negative (PSU not included)Designed and built in EnglandWeight: 620 gDimensions: 142 × 66 × 59 mm
