A superbly beautiful kotsuzumi old body of the Edo period with gold and silver Tomoe pattern maki-e on the swirling waves.


Maki-e on the body is from the mid to late Edo period. The body of the tsutsu-bodi is thought to be before the middle of Edo period.
The planing is seven-stage stepped kanna for the internal uke (contracting). The planing is made up of seven steps on the inner surface of the inner barrel (okeke). The inside of the plane is decorated with gorgeous Daimyo maki-e (gold and silver patterns inlaid with Tomoe patterns) on the undulating waves. It weighs 427 grams. A maki-e box is included.
