Vintage" is a word that can be heard everywhere today, but in the case of Martin, the movement started in the 1970s and 1980s.

The HD-28, which was introduced in 1976, featured the same herringbone decoration used on the Golden Era, and in the 1980s, the D-28 was introduced by the Japanese distributor at that time,
In the 1980s, Tokai Gakki, our distributor in Japan at the time, introduced the HD-28 Custom Pre War Reissue, a model that more closely resembled vintage HD-28s.

In 1984, the HD-28V model was introduced.
Herringbone and diamonds-and-squares fingerboard inlays, butter bean type tuners, tortoiseshell pickguard, and so on, all of these features are indicative of a return to the vintage spirit.

In addition, the long saddle, V-shaped neck, forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing, etc., all contribute to a return to vintage sound,
The design of this guitar is directly related to the sound, and is a must-have for vintage lovers.

This guitar was made in 2010.
The spruce used for the top has a wide grain on the outside, which becomes tighter toward the center. The elegant horizontal grain is also present, giving it a wonderful appearance.
The impression of the tone is a sharp sound with a fast response on strong strokes, and a solid core sound on fingerstyle fingerboards, with each string being output in good balance.

The production of this instrument is now discontinued, and its distribution is expected to decrease in the future.
