The Holy Grail of Pre-War Martin guitars. A 1943 Sunburst "Bone". The guitar is in great condition other than normal playing wear, plays amazing, and it sounds so good words can't describe. Sunburst Martins from this period are extremely rare, and a herringbone dreadnaught sits on the apex of that pinacle. The guitar wood, bridge plate, hardware and parts are all original except a few of the "wartime" tuners have been slightly repaired. The inside is super clean, and there are "NO CRACKS"! Not even a pickguard crack, no seam separation, no hairlines in the Brazilian back and sides that I can find, no headstock hairlines... no nothing. Apparently the original owner... "Lucky" had his name planted on the face with rhinestones, which I think adds to the mojo. There was also a larger rhinestone that fell off the face of the headstock and that spot has been lightly touched up. (see photos). This is an amazing guitar, one that would make the finest of Martin collectors and players very happy. Comes with the original hard case in excellent condition.
