Even a jaded older acoustic player will get weak in the knees. “OMG Here! Play this one!” You maybe don’t want to spend $100K on a real 1937 Martin D-28 herringbone? This will give you everything in detail and its tone will keep getting better (which seems impossible).

This has hand scalloped aged Adirondack Spruce top, 1 3/4” nut width, 25.4” scale, hide glue construction, 1937 Authentic neck profile, herringbone top trim and of course Madagascar Rosewood. You have to love the little details of the Authentic series like the correct belly bridge, long bone saddle, black ebony fingerboard with diamond and square inlays and low mass nickel Waverly tuners. The Authentic series Martins also have a special thinner lacquer finish. This one is carefully aged but Martin is answering a world wide call to make them like they used to. They succeeded tremendously. This is freshly set up and with new bridge pins. Comes with the original deluxe hard case and hang tags.

Note: Madagascar Rosewood was Martin’s choice for replacing Brazilian for tone and beauty. However, we are Sad to say Madagascar is a thing of the past. The species is critically endangered mostly due to over harvesting by the furniture industry. But the Brazilian Rosewood like tone is hard to forget.
