Description

Natural, 12 fret, steel string, 24 3/4” scale. One of only 125 made in 1930. First year of the belly bridge. All solid Koa construction. One of Martin’s first guitars with steel strings as standard in the 1920’s. These lightweight guitar sounds big and balanced for its size.

The pre-war wood is thin like a fine violin. The scalloped bracing has been copied over and over by every guitar maker and the 12 fret neck joint is what every fingerpicker dreams about. This has a non-original bridge and replaced bridge plate, saddle and nut. Some of the tuner screws are now mis matched and our shop reglued some loose braces. Has an ebony fingerboard with a 1 7/8” nut width and bar frets. These don’t normally aren’t this flamey but this has very flamed koa top, back and sides. It is an easy to hold 13 1/2” body with four layers of top binding and one layer on back. In fact a clean nice example that is fairly priced in the rising pre-war market. Priced like a new authentic series guitar. Comes with an original soft shell case.
