This heavy brass snare from the 1910s to 1930s is regarded as one of Ludwig's finest products in terms of character, looks, and shell construction. It is owned by recording studios overseas and attracts musicians from all over the world.
This one is one of the vintage drums that was given to us by a vintage drum collector. Among the many Vintage Ludwigs he has acquired, none of them are in such mint condition, and he was able to negotiate with a collector to sell it to us. ). Therefore, this item has been in our warehouse as a treasured collection for a long time.
It is approximately dated between 1926 and 1928. The shell is handmade by a craftsman with a scroll-engraved black nickel plated brass shell. The size is 15' x 5' with 10 lugs (10 lug version was introduced around 1926 so that the 15' size could be easily tuned). The strainer is a '338' and the head is mounted with a rare cowhide head. This model also comes with a rare hard case from that time.
