1999 Kendrick Trainwreck Climax Amp Head + 2x12 Cabinet in Red Faux Crocodile Tolex
Limited Production 1 of 100 Climax amps - 1 of an estimated 10 Heads - Most were Combo's
These amps were built in 1999 by Gerald Weber of Kendrick Amplifiers in close collaboration with Ken Fisher (Trainwreck) utilizing Ken’s very specific designs for the lead channel, and Webers circuit for the Clean / Texas Tea channel.
1 of estimated 10 of these amps were built as just amp heads, the rest 90 or so were tolex & exotic wood combo cabinets, primarily 1x12's.
This one is special in very good condition and sounds as good as it looks! The Amp was serviced in 2021 by Mr. Gerald Weber. Comes with documentation from Mr. Weber. We commissioned Mr. Weber to build a custom matching 2x12 Cabinet in similar Red Faux Reptile tolex with two Kendrick Brown Frame Speakers to match the head, note different grill cloth as the original is no longer available per GW.
This amp sounds incredible with both amazing cleans and a rich, boutique tube overdrive. The Climax achieves the famed Trainwreck tone at a bargain!
This amp can be used with any combination of power tubes, including EL84s, EL34s, KT66s, 6L6s, and allows you to self-bias the amp; a very unique and original idea. It has two channels. The first channel is warm and clean with reverb, has clean volume, a knob that says Texas Tea, and treble, bass, and reverb. The other channel has master volume, master presence, master high cut and lead volume, treble, middle, and bass, sounding like a good combination of Marshall and Vox.
Mr. Weber was a kind amp genius and he will be missed.
