Greven 000-NV Brazilian Rosewood Guitar (New, Old Build)

"NV stands for New Vintage"

  • Old Growth, Master grade Brazilian rosewood back & sides
  • This was a guitar that John hung onto and it is the sister to his personal guitar at the time, when we purchased this guitar from John Greven in 2009.
  • The Brazilian is the best of the best, with the most desirable figure and spider-webbing.
  • This guitar also has a Master grade Sitka Spruce top
  • John used scalloped Adirondack spruce for the bracing, in the style of Martin guitars built in the 1930's.
  • The binding is curly Walnut
  • The mahogany neck has a diamond volute and is French polished
  • The headstock is plain with no logo
  • Nickel Grover open-gear tuning machines
  • Herringbone top trim
  • Ebony fretboard & pyramid bridge
  • The tone is mature and dark & solid as only John Greven could make a guitar sound.
  • As you may know, John Greven has retired.  This guitar was obtained from John, as we were a dealer of Greven guitars for many years.  It has never been sold, but rather has lived in the "vault" here.  It has not been shown to customers and barely played except when we pulled it out to check on it and restring it.  So, essentially, it is a time capsule guitar that is ready to get out and make some music!
  • SN: 2084
  • OHSC included.
