1958年末から1959年頃ES-335の上級モデルとして発売されたES-355。ヘッドやネックに施されたバインディングやダイヤモンドインレイ、ゴールドパーツやエボニー指板、ブロックポジションマーク等の特徴を持ち、BB KingやChuck Berry、Keith Richards、Noel Gallagher、生形真一等有名ミュージシャンの愛用でも知られるセミアコースティックギター。
今はなきメンフィス工場にて製作されたこのモデルは、ディープジョイントを採用しており、弦振動をダイレクトにボディに伝える事で良質な鳴りを引き出しています。グリップ感のある太めのネックも特徴。セミアコースティック・ギターならではの箱物らしい温かみのあるサウンドに、センターブロックを配置する事でソリッド・ギターのサステインやアタックも得られ、幅広い楽曲に対応する人気のギターです。
