Description

For your consideration is a 1987 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Pre Historic Reissue. In the 1980s Gibson referred to the model simply as a Les Paul Reissue before tagging it as a 57 Reissue in later years. Gearing up for Guns N Roses touring Slash got three Les Pauls in 1987, Two Standards and One similar 1987 Goldtop Les Paul Reissue. The Goldtop would become one of Slash's main touring stage guitars during the late 1980s and 1990s. This guitar has been setup as a Tribute to that iconic stage guitar. Features include an Antique Gold Finish over a Dished Maple Top, Nickel Hardware, Bound Rosewood Fingerboard, Thin Binding in the Cutaway, Ink stamped serial number with the first digit 7 corresponding to a 1987 production date, a Pair of Seymour Duncan Slash Alnico Pro II Pickups, and 1987 Dated Pots. The headstock logo is just like Slash's with no dot over i and the vintage style open b and o "Gibson" logo. The pickguard has been removed and strap lock buttons installed to complete the Slash look. Overall the guitar is in tidy Excellent Vintage Condition displaying only light use. Included is the Original Brown Tolex Gibson Hardshell Case, Gibson Warranty Paperwork, and the Original Pickguard. There were not many of these Slash Era 1987 Pre Historic Goldtop Reissues built so they do not come around often and why not have the real deal as opposed to the modern Gibson Slash Reissues.
