Description

Bay Area Vintage Guitars is proud to offer this rare 1982 Gibson Les Paul Jimmy Wallace Guitar. An amazing production of 1958 models that feels, sounds, and plays like a time capsule from that golden era. This guitar doesn't disappoint with only a couple of minor dings and one scratch, in an otherwise mint example of this rare guitar.

Jimmy hand-picked every maple top for his small production, and this one from 1982 is #9/25 of the first run (out of 100 guitars).

The pictures show the unique flame top, amazing colors, all the original parts, and the incredible Tim Shaw pickups.

History:

The Jimmy Wallace Les Pauls were made in Kalamazoo in the early ’80s and had beautiful quilted tops, with vintage serial numbers starting with 8 (for 1958). The features of these guitars are similar to those of the Leo’s and Guitar Traders, including the thin binding in the cutaway, ABR-1 bridge, etc. The early ’80s guitars had truss rod covers with block JIMMY WALLACE letters (like this one), and the later models had the 'Jimmy Wallace' in script and 'MODEL' in block letters.

NOTE: The photos are of the actual guitar we are selling, so please use them as a reference when making your decision. The guitar is sold as-is.

The setup on any guitar is subjective & a matter of a player's taste, which varies for every player. While each instrument we sell is set up as playable, that setup may not be precise to your particular taste right out of the box. As with any stringed instrument) you should expect to possibly make adjustments to the action, string gauges, etc., to suit your exact tastes.
