Exceptional Fine Condition, Near Mint example, one of the cleanest and pristine L-00’s on the planet.
This was probably played a few times when new, then put in its case, into a closet and forgotten.
I’ve owned over a dozen 1930’s L-00’s, and finding one in this condition is a true rarity.
FON # 564C
Frets show absolutely no wear – untouched condition. Original maple bridge plate shows no signs of use. The bridge still has the pull-out from when the holes were drilled on the top.
All the braces are tight on the top and back with no signs of loosening or lifting. Bridge is tight to the top.
Top shows no signs of sinking between the sound hole and the bridge. Nice arch to the top at the bridge area as you expect. Original end pin.
One small stress crack at the lower treble bout from a bump, not all the way through. One scratch on the treble side that is slight.
Slight spot of finish missing next to the nut. Original lacquer is still on the sides of the nut.
Top shows light checking. Back has checking, but less than the top. Sides and neck have no checking.
Neck shape is a V, but less pronounced than some I have seen.
Price listed is bank wire transfer price.
Neck depth at
1st Fret: .9845
7th fret: .9870
Saddle was lowered before I got it. Like almost all 1930’s L-00’s, this needs a neck reset to play to spec. This is such a pristine example that I left it alone and did not do a neck reset.
