1958 Gibson Gibson ES-350Tn PAFs 43 made in 1958 Blonde

Here's a tasty looking ES-350TN from 1958, one of just 43 made that year.

The guitar has the ambered look of a guitar that's seen time in smoke filled bars, but it doesn't bear the odor as such.  

And while the guitar looks as though it has logged some time, it is actually in excellent condition and doesn't have the woes of a heavily played instrument.  The original frets have likely been leveled and crowned, but they are in great shape and are not in need of work or replacement.  There are signs of very light light pitting in the fretboard in the lower register.  The guitar plays perfectly and sets up with low action.

The back of the neck and the end of the headstock show light wear only.  The factory stinger on the back of the headstock adds a nice touch of class. 

All the hardware and plastic is original: the gold/no-wire ABR-1, the single line/single ring gold Kluson tuners, the shrunken, nearly petrified tuner buttons, the knobs - everything.  

The pickups are original PAFs.  The bridge pickup was rewound with NOS 50s wire.  The neck pickup is original and the cover untouched.  The pickup lead for the bridge pickup appears to be original, but it was unsoldered from the original harness for the rewind and the cover removed.  

In shipping to us, one of the original pot shield covers came off.  We stashed it in the case.

Speaking of the case, it is original and it is in incredibly nice condition like the guitar.  All latches, hinges, and the handle are fully functional.

ES-350s from this era are unique among Gibson guitars, with their 23 1/2" scale, narrow neck and string spacing.  The sound is all there though - the PAFs sound fantastic.
