This 1960 ES-330 has a neck that is more like a '59 than a 1960 - it must be from very early in the year as Gibson slimmed the shape of necks drastically throughout 1960.
If a guitar can be breathtaking, this is such an example. The guitar was played, as evidenced in the even fretwear from the 1st through the 9th frets, but it was extremely well cared for and obviously was responsibly stored. Go through the pictures to see what I mean. This guitar has to be just about the cleanest of the 1198 made in 1960.
The guitar came to us through another dealer who bought it from the family of the original owner. Not a part is changed. The case is said to be original to the guitar, and it is in similarly impeccable condition. A black case with gold lining would be an early one, but there's no real reason to doubt the family that it has been with the guitar forever.
Playability is top notch, as is the tone. This is a fun guitar to spend some time on, when plugged in or not. There simply is no substitute for Gibson guitars from this era!
