Gibson Custom Shop 2022 Murphy Lab 1964 SG Standard Heavy Aged w/ Maestro Vibrola
The "1964 SG Standard Heavy Aged w/ Maestro Vibrola" has been aged by Murphy Lab, a team specializing in aging and led by Tom Murphy, a leading expert in aging.
The "Heavy Aged" finish is the second most intense of the four levels of aging available in the Murphy Lab collection, and the paint on the elbow and body back is stripped and the weather checks are reproduced for a dignified appearance.
All hide-glue and parts have been carried over from the True Historic series, and vintage taper pots and bumblebee type oil capacitors have been installed.
The neck is an Authentic 64 Medium C-shape, which is slightly thicker and rounder than the slim taper necks of the previous SG models from the early 60s.
The pickups are equipped with un-potted Custombuckers.
It is in excellent condition with almost no signs of wear, not much fret wear, and no problems with the neck or truss rod.
