Gibson Custom Shop 2012 Historic Collection Limited Run 1979 Flying V Lightly Aged
This is a special edition "1979 Flying V Lightly Aged" model, produced in a limited edition of only 16 pieces.
The concept of this model was to reproduce the specs similar to the 1979 Flying V, which is known to have been used by Kirk Hammett of Metallica.
The guitar has a vintage look by reproducing of weather checks and paint peeling by aging treatment, and features pickups with pickup rings.
It has a slightly rounded headstock with a slightly rounded tip, a voluted neck, a witch-hat shaped knobs, and a slim "70s Narrow Fat" neck grip with a nut width of about 40 mm.
The pickups are equipped with two Custombuckers.
The original pickguard is still in place, but there are signs that another one has been fitted and additional screw holes drilled.
There is not much fret wear, and the neck and truss rod are both in good condition.
