Here's a 1956 Gibson Byrdland in Sunburst finish. With the exception of a professional refret, everything on the guitar is original. No breaks, cracks, repairs. The Byrdland features the same solid, carved wood construction (flame maple and tight-grain spruce) and cosmetic features as the contemporary L-5CES with a thin-rimmed body and a shorter scale neck. It also features two amazing sounding Alnico "staple" magnet pickups, which, were only used between 1955 (1st year of the model) and 1957. The neck has a great feeling round C profile. The action on the guitar is on low to medium side of things. Low at the first few frets, then to a medium height the rest of the way. Every note sings and rings. Acoustically the guitar the guitar warm and resonant. The original pickguard did not come with the guitar, but the previous owner purchased an original factory Gibson new old stock guard. It needs to be properly shaped by an expert luthier to be put on. We are including this with the guitar. HSC included...
