Description

Gibson / 1956~1958 CF-100

The CF-100 was Gibson's first cutaway model, introduced in the 1950s.
A year later, in 1951, the CF-100E with P-90 pickups joined the lineup.
However, the CF-100 was produced from 1950 to 1958, and the CF-100E from 1951 to 1959.

The body is made of spruce on the top, mahogany on the side backs, and hakaranda on the fingerboard, and the body size is small like the L series, making it easy to hold and comfortable to play.
The CF-100 is characterized by its Florentine-style cutaway.
This makes it easy to access the high position, and it is also useful for playing techniques other than chords.

The serial number on this model has been smudged over time, so we could not determine the details of its age, but the non-scalloped bracing suggests that it was made between 1956 and 1958.
The wide range of sound and the full, lingering low end, despite the small body, are not only due to the cutter fade and brazing, but also to the fact that this guitar has been played so hard that it has a unique tone.

There are several cracks on the top of the body, but they have been repaired with a reinforcing plate, so you can continue to play it with peace of mind.
