This is a very cool late 1930's Gibson Special #4 Model archtop in all black. It's essentially a 16-inch L-50 but in the desirable, sleek black finish. The guitar plays well and sounds quite nice. The guitar of course shows a decent amount of wear from being nearly 90 years old but is still a viable instrument. No cracks besides a center seam that was likely repaired many decades ago. The frets show quite a bit of wear and will need replacing soon but still plays pretty well. The original pickguard is missing and another was put in its place at some point long ago. That pickguard has a crack in it. Tuners also changed long ago. We suspect a couple of the back braces might be slightly loose but the guitar sounds very good with no additional rattling. All in all, it's a very cool vintage black Gibson archtop from the 30's, that sounds great, looks great, and is a joy to play! Comes with newer hard case.
