Class A discrete design allows for a clean boost of up to +20dB without changing the sound quality. The volume is increased and harmonics are added at the same time, making the sound image stand out. This is an early model with the well-known sound of the Gray Hammer chassis and black lettering.This is the "LP" version for humbuckers while the regular model is for single coils.
The rustling sound when the GAIN knob is moved is due to the pot's specifications.
