This is the sharpest looking version of the Flot-a-Tone Model 600 amp I've seen.  Year to year, they changed the cosmetics of the model - there are quite a few iterations, and you just don't see many of any of them.

The amp sounds like a tweed-era Fender and with the pair of 6L6 output tubes, you not only get that tweed overdrive, you get some clean headroom to work with.  There is some heft to the low end that you don't always get from smaller, 6V6 loaded amps.

The amp has seen some service, getting some new electrolytic caps here and there.  I bought the amp from Bill Krinard of Two Rock Amplification, so I assume that he did the work.  A grounded power cable was also installed prior to the amp's arrival here.

The speaker has been replaced with a Weber Alnico Sig12S.  It is a great match for the amp.

The transformers are all original.  I cleaned the tube sockets and pots, and all the tubes were tested.  The amp runs strong and has great sounding, tube driven tremolo.

This is the perfect package - size and weight are entirely manageable, and the amp will sound great in your living room, in the studio, or on stage.

General description of the Model 600 from the interwebs:

The Flot-A-Tone Model 600 is a rare gem among vintage tube amplifiers, offering a unique blend of warmth, clarity, and rich overdrive that sets it apart from the competition. Built in Milwaukee in the mid-1960s, this 25-watt combo amp delivers a remarkable tonal range, from pristine cleans to a beautifully saturated tweed-like break-up that guitarists crave. Equipped with a pair of 7591 power tubes and a 12-inch Jensen speaker, the Model 600 provides a full-bodied sound with incredible depth, making it a perfect choice for blues, jazz, rock, and beyond.

One of its standout features is the tube-driven tremolo, adding a lush, pulsing character that enhances musical expression. Whether you're playing at low volumes for a smooth, warm tone or pushing it into overdrive for a raw, vintage bite, this amp responds with remarkable sensitivity and dynamic range. While its build quality reflects the craftsmanship of its era, the Model 600 has a distinct character that modern amps struggle to replicate. Its rarity makes it a collector’s piece, but its performance ensures it remains a working musician’s dream.

Serviced and maintained properly, this amplifier will continue to provide a one-of-a-kind playing experience, bringing classic tube warmth to any stage or studio. If you’re looking for a vintage amp with history, soul, and a sound that stands out, the Flot-A-Tone Model 600 is a treasure worth owning.

Shipping policy:
When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  We remove the chassis from some amps so that the large transformers don't damage a chassis or cabinet.  We remove heavy speakers from some amps so they don't damage baffles.  These cases result in multiple box shipments, and they require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
