Description

Now available on consignment, an early 1965 Fender Stratocaster in its original custom colour Candy Apple Red finish!

This transitional guitar still has most of the specifications you would see in late 1964, having an L plate, brazillian rosewood fingerboard, and a nitrate celluloid pickguard.

The original Candy Apple Red Metallic finish has some fade to the front, as well as some play wear as shown in the pictures. This example has both Firemist Gold, and Firemist Silver undercoats which is not unheard of in early 1965.

Despite being played, this guitar retains ALL of its original parts right down to the original frets and nut. All of the original plastics and hardware remain, including all of the screws. The neck is dated to May, which is concurrent with the original Stackpole 250k pots dating to the 16th week of 1965, and grey bobbin pickups dating to April. The wiring harness appears mostly untouched except for some reheated solder joints at the input jack, all else looks undisturbed.

A fantastic playing and sounding early '65 custom colour Fender Stratocaster!

Includes its original black tolex case and original tremolo arm.
