1963 Fender Precision Bass
Stripped finish. This pre-CBS Fender had lived a full life and is still full of life with great acoustic resonance and warm yet complex pickup tone. We got this worn-out frets so we refretted it (you’re welcome) and it has a new logo. Neck date is November 1963 (says 5NOV63C, see photo). Original “L” plate, original tuners and pickup but the tone pot dates to 1971, so likely that’s when they stripped the finish…likely. Beautiful dark Brazilian board. New knobs. We could do any finish but it would take 6-8 months. We suggest leaving it. Comes with an ‘80s tweed Fender case. Priced more like a Custom Shop instrument. But a finish and an original case would add value.
