This 1965 Deluxe Reverb adds more beef to our black panel Fender selection. If you're in the market, we've got one for ya! This one is from mid-1965 and bears the short-lived typo on the back panel: "A division of Colombia Records Distribution Corp", where CBS was Columbia Records.
This example has seen some beneficial service that will save you a good deal of money over another that hasn't had any responsible updating.
The transformers are all original. The filter caps are recent Sprague replacements and the electrolytic bypass caps were replaced with Sprague caps as well. The bias cap is a new Mojo replacement. These are all changes that every amp from the mid 60s (even later amps) should have.
The power cable was swapped for a grounded one. One potentiometer was changed. Wiring from the Vibrato channel was updated with shielded wire at some point, likely to get quieter operation. The pedal looks to be a 70s Fender unit. The speaker is a Weber Ferromax.
All the tubes have been tested and they are all good to go.
The amp runs strong and quiet. It is a great sounding amp! The perfect circuit for most players, an amp that'll fill a room without garnering complaints that you're too loud, and it won't break your back.
