Fender Custom Shop 2022 Michael Landau 1968 Stratocaster Relic
This is the signature model of Michael Landau, a highly respected studio and session musician.
Based on his own 1968 Stratocaster with round laminated rosewood fretboard and large head, it has undergone a bold relic treatment to replicate the weathering and large flaking paint chips across the body.
The neck has a unique asymmetrical shape, thicker on the 6-string side and slightly thinner on the 1-string side, suitable for playing in a shake-hand style like Landau himself, with narrow-tall frets and a 7.25 radius fingerboard.
The pickups are hand-wound "Fat 50s" signed "LMM" with original Circle D type ceramic capacitors, and the controls are bridge tone, centre and neck tone and master volume.
The frets show minimal signs of wear, with a small area of fret wear in the low position on the plain strings, but otherwise there is very little wear, and the neck and truss rod are both in good condition.
