Fender Custom Shop 2020 Limited 1960 Dual Mag II Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic

The "1960 Stratocaster Dual Mag II Super Heavy Relic" model was produced in a limited edition for the 2020 Summer Event.

It is a reissue of a 1960 Stratocaster with a slab fingeboard and a Super Heavy Relic finish that boldly reproduces large paint chips on the neck and body back, weather checks, and tarnished metal parts.

The neck is made from AA grade straight grained, beautifully flamed maple.

The neck grip is a 60 style Oval C shape with moderate thickness, the AAA grade rosewood fretboard is 9.5R with narrow tall frets.

The pickups are handwound "Dual Mag II" pickups signed "CG".

Specially designed by Mike Lewis, Director of Product Development, the "Dual-Mag" uses two types of magnets: an Alnico II magnet pole piece for a sweeter, warmer sound on strings 1-3, and an Alnico V magnet for a clearer sound on strings 4-6.

The "Strat 1/2 Blender Wiring with Tone-Saver Bleed" allows blending of the neck pickup when the bridge pickup or bridge + center pickup is selected. Even when the volume is turned down, the high frequency range is not cut down too much, maintaining a well-balanced sound.

Conductive paint is applied for noise suppression. (Not applied afterwards, but from the time of shipment.)

There are almost no signs of wear or fret wear, and there are no problems with the neck and truss rod operation.
