Fender Custom Shop 2020 Limited Edition 70th Anniversary Broadcaster NOS
This is a limited edition reissue to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the "Broadcaster", the original model of the Nocaster and Telecaster.
Originally released as Fender's first solid body electric guitar "Broadcaster", the trademark "BroadKaster" was already owned by Gretsch, so the product name "Broadcaster" could no longer be used. The name "Broadcaster" was removed from the headstock, hard case, and warranty card.
The off-center 2-piece ash body is finished with an ultra-thin "Flash Coat Lacquer" finish with no final buffing, and the guitar is NOS (New Old Stock).
The neck is a "V" shaped 1950 Blackguard, the pickups are Custom Shop Hand-Wound '50-'51 Blackguard signed "BP".
The controls are '51 Modded Nocaster wiring, which allows neck blending when the bridge is selected, and when position 3 is selected, the tone is not as extremely suppressed as previous vintage wiring.
Position 1 Rear Pickup w/Blender
Position 2 Front w/No Tone
Position 3 Front w/Preset Tone
The bridge pickup is tarnished and there are a few chips on the body back, but the guitar is in good condition with no noticeable scratches.
The frets are very lightly worn, mainly in the low position on the plain strings, but the overall remaining fret length is over 90%.
A control plate with modern wiring already wired to make a normal Telecaster control and a replica of a magazine advertisement from the period are also included.
