Art Esparza joined Fender in 1997, was selected as the seventh member of the Custom Shop in 1988, and was promoted to Master Builder in 1994. He worked on guitars for Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Ernie Isley, and many other famous musicians until he left Fender in 2004 due to ill health.
Among them, Annie Isley's ZEAL and Buddy Guy's polka dot Stratocaster became the iconic guitars of those musicians, and he produced guitars that attracted attention for their visual impact.
This custom Clapton Stratocaster by Art Esparza also features a rare metallic green coloring. The beautiful flame maple neck is carefully machined and boasts high playing performance. The early Gold Lace Sensor pickups, TBX control, and mid-boost are all Eric Clapton's specialties.
This is Eric Clapton's Stratocaster that he himself was involved with, and its perfection is unmistakable.
He is currently active as a professional saxophone player. Art Esparza is a guitar builder by trade, and his knowledge and skills are second to none. He has a wide range of musical talents, and we are very envious of his wide range of musical talents.
