Step into the golden age of Fender tone with this 1964 Fender Bassman Head & Cabinet, featuring the highly sought-after AA864 circuit and classic Pre-CBS blackface design. Revered for its warm cleans, punchy mids, and smooth breakup, this vintage all-tube amplifier delivers legendary tone that shaped the sound of rock, blues, surf, and country music for decades.

This amp has seen some responsibly performed service that has left the important components in place to retain the vintage tone.  The transformers are original.  I just changed out the filter caps and the bypass caps to get the amp where you want it for regular use.  A grounded power cable was already present when the amp arrived here.  The speakers aren't original, but what you get is a very complimentary pair - a 1968 Oxford (reconed in 1978), and a 1968 Jensen C12N.  Something great happens when you mix speakers like this, which is why you see companies like Matchless do the same in their amps.  It also gives you some flexibility when recording - mic em both and mix the best of each.

This pre-CBS Bassman is equipped with its original Fender blackface cosmetics, matching head and 2x12 cabinet, and the iconic AA864 circuit—widely regarded as one of the best-sounding and most musical circuits Fender ever produced. The amp offers two channels (Normal and Bass), each with independent volume, treble, bass, and presence controls, allowing players to shape their tone with precision and vintage character.

Perfect for guitar or bass, the 1964 Bassman is known for its rich headroom, harmonic depth, and the ability to pair perfectly with overdrive pedals for dynamic rock tones. The included matching 2x12 cabinet completes the full vintage rig, delivering the unmistakable sound of a true American classic.

Shipping policy:
When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. These cases result in multiple box shipments, and they require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
