Commissioned in 2004, this guitar celebrates the origins of possibly the most famous electric guitar not only in Fender's production line, but in the entire music industry. Many of the Master Builders at Fender at the time contributed by fashioning their own versions of the classic '54 Strat.
This piece, crafted by the late, great John English, radiates that certain aura only his guitars seem to have. From the body cut to the otherworldly smooth edges of the neck/headstock, every small detail has been accounted for. There's not much that can be said about the quality of this exemplar of luthiery. Its beauty has to be seen and felt to truly be appreciated. As for the tone: Well, its just as bell-like and resonant as some of the best vintage '54s you can find. Too bad John is gone, he was the best!
This guitar has been lightly "Relic'd"; There is consistent checking in the finish throughout the vintage style nitro lacquer, but the guitar has never been sold/played extensively. There are some small pock marks on the front of the body as well. There is no visible patina on the frets, however. Over all, it looks like a vintage piece that was lightly used, then put in storage for a few decades. The sticker covering the trem arm insert is still on the bridge. The neck/fretboard are in absolute mint condition, and all electronics are fully functional.
*This piece comes with a brown, vintage style "poodle" case AND a newer, early 2000s style black hard case. All original documents, including CoA, are included
